Images from walks in North Wales

Crib Nantlle

Acknowledged as one of the best ridge walks in Wales, Crib Nantlle (the Nantlle Ridge) is a stunning series of hills above Rhyd Ddu.

With some steep ascents (scrambling is required in places) and sheer drops, it’s a challenging outing. For such a magnificent walk, it’s mercifully quiet; you can look over to Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) and be glad you chose somewhere away from the crowds.

The striking stone column on Mynydd Tal-y-Mignedd is not a memorial to local quarrymen, but instead commemorates Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee.
